The 3D French Consortium is a non-profit consortium focused on faster adoption of 3D systems, in the entertainment industry and at home, by facilitating and communicating the development of technical roadmaps, Consortium education, and test and evaluation methodologies throughout the 3D eco-system in France. The organization supports the development of industry standards being established by standards organizations.
The 3D French Consortium was founded in 2011 by 5 founding members, including DOREMI TECHNOLOGIES, VOLFONI, DIGITAL MEDIA SOLUTIONS, 3DLIZED and ATAO AUDIOSYSTEM.
Today the alliance has over 15 French member companies along with representatives from the 3D eco-system spanning video on demand platforms, content creation, hardware industries and image processing companies. The organization’s activities are carried out by four steering teams who cover the areas of content creation, distribution and transmission, Consortium products and a team dedicated to the effects of 3D TV on human physiology.
The 3D French Consortium is 3D technology-neutral among competing 3D technologies such as active-shutter, passive, color-coded or auto-stereo. The 3D French Consortium has a strong partnership with the International 3D Society and 3D@home. It aims at being their representative in France and in Europe.
The 3D French Consortium is managed by Patrick ZUCCHETTA Chairman of DOREMI TECHNOLOGIES and Pierre MICHEA as Chief Operating Officer.
